Oh My, The Purge: The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane review

For me, there are a few absolute musts that I always incorporate in my routine; IE. exfoliant, sunscreen, and antioxidants. I’ve played around with retinol derivatives before (Retinyl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate)  but have never tried it in a true 1% concentration.

Retinol on a budget: The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% review

When it comes to specialized products, I’ve always thought “you’ve got to pay, to play”. Meaning, to get an effective product, you got to pony up the cash. Which is tough, because I’m on budget! So for a skincare enthusiast like me, to come across a brand like The Ordinary, it was a match made in heaven.

The Ordinary has been making waves in the beauty community for their combination of specialized skincare products at budget prices. Looking at their site, there is so much to try out! The products are crazy affordable. But are they effective?!

Based on my skincare needs and reviews I’ve read by other beauty bloggers, I decided to pick up a few items. One of them being, The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%, $9.80 for 30ml. Retinol is known for its ability to fight signs of aging like wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and texture. It’s really hard to find a good retinol product in the drugstore; one that has a good concentration of retinol and is low on irritants. So I was super excited to try this out.

Details

  • 2% concentration of retinol by weight
  • Non irritating retinoid
